New Mitsubishi Global Small Car - Sketch

BANGKOK : December 9, 2010 - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today conducted a Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for a new third factory of its Thailand producer and distributor, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand (MMTh) at the site where the new factory is to be built in at the Laem Chabang Industrial Estate in Chonburi province. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Thailand's Minister of Industry Chaiwut Bannawat and MMC President Osamu Masuko.

The third factory will be built adjacent to the first and second factories, and is planned to start mass production in March 2012. It will produce the "global small" 1.0-1.2L class compact vehicle that MMC plans to launch in fiscal year 2011. Initially, the production capacity of this new factory will be around the 150,000-unit per year level, and in the future it can be boosted to the 200,000-unit per year level. The new factory is planned to hire around 3,000 new staffs.

The "global small" to be produced at the new factory will be a new vehicle based on a completely new platform currently being developed by MMC with "compact," "affordability," and "fuel efficiency" as the basic concepts for the vehicle. The "global small" will conform to Thailand's Eco-car Project, implemented by the Thai government with the objective of promoting investment in Thailand's automobile industry and reduction of dependence on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. The "global small" will be positioned as an entry model in MMC's model lineup, and plans are to export the vehicle from Thailand to markets worldwide as a global strategic vehicle that corresponds to both market needs of emerging countries, for which demand for automobiles is expected to increase, and advanced nations, where vehicle downsizing is increasing in order to correspond to energy issues in addition to environmental awareness.

Minister Chaiwut Bannawat expressed his pleasure at the ceremony: "It's my great pleasure that Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's factory becomes a part of our Eco-car Project. This Mitsubishi factory will bring to Thailand many technologies for automobile production and lead to improve labor skills for auto industry as well as related industries."

In addition, MMC President Masuko added "It's a great honor to have this memorable day for the construction of the third factory. From the beginning, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has strongly believed in Thailand's potential as the production hub for global markets; now Mitsubishi Motors Thailand became the production base of our 1-ton pickup. We share the Thai government's environmental concerns and we have made Thailand the global production hub for the "global small."

Mitsubishi Pajero 2010

|

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Mitsubishi Pajero always have a stable life, a little boring. This is a very subtle blend of practicality, reliability and good value, but there was not much joy in it. For 2010, Mitsubishi offers a new model in exactly the same as the old one but has a better performance and consume less.

The key to this improvement is the new diesel engine! This is a 3.2-liter DI-D Common Rail turbo-diesel engine that develops 200hp, and torque of 441 nm. This is 25 percent stronger than the engine it replaces, but still 200 hp is a place close enough for a big car that weighs a million tons.

But then, the whole point of the diesel engine is fuel economy and that's where the new Pajero, given that the size and function, really shine. With five-speed manual gearbox only burns 8.5 liters of fuel per 100 km off the 224g CO2 per km. If you choose to automatic transmission, you must live with the consumption of 100km 9.3liters OER.

2010 Mitsubishi Pajero (also known as the Shogun in Britain) also improved in terms of ergonomics, practicality and comfort. This better soundproofing which is a nice feature if you have a diesel engine! In the options list there are the newly designed 17-inch wheels and 18, a new improved version of Mitsubishi's Multi Communication System (MMCS) which is equipped with 40GB hard disk to store music and map navigation system. The towing capacity of your car has also increased, with three models Your door can tow up to 3 tons of goods, and that 3.5 tons for the four-door variants.

Pricing for 2010 Mitsubishi Pajero ranging from 34 990 Euro 37 990 Euro for the three-door four-door version with manual gearbox. automatic variant costs 36 890 and 39 890 Euros.

Mitsubishi Motors Launches RVR New Compact Crossover

|

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

2010 Mitsubishi RVR

TOKYO : February 17, 2010 – Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that its all-new compact crossover RVR went on sale at Mitsubishi dealerships throughout Japan from February 17. The RVR is an ideal compact crossover which achieves superior utility and running performance, excellent environmental efficiency (all models qualify for the Japanese domestic eco-car tax reduction), and a refined interior and exterior in a compact size at an accessible price (JPY 1,785,000 ~ 2,449,650, consumption tax included).

The new RVR provides outstanding fuel efficiency from its lightweight, compact body. With the panoramic field of view of an SUV, the RVR is easy to drive and provides turn-on-a-dime maneuverability. The vehicle is the ideal compact crossover, with ample luggage space for every application from daily driving to leisure outings.

The power train combines a 1.8-liter, 16-valve DOHC MIVEC engine with an INVECS–III sport mode 6-speed CVT. The vehicle features a regenerative braking system (high-efficiency electric power generation control), electric power steering, improved aerodynamics and other low-fuel consumption technologies down to fine detail, resulting in a 75% reduction from the Japanese FY 2005 emissions gas standards and exceeding the FY 2010 fuel efficiency requirements by 15%. All models qualify for the Japanese eco-car tax reduction (50% tax reduction to promote the popularization of environmentally-friendly cars).

The RVR also incorporates super-wide HID headlights which provide a wide, ultra-bright beam for safe night driving, a panoramic glass roof (with LED illumination) for a sense of spaciousness during the day and a romantic ambiance at night, and push-button ignition. The vehicle has a refined and sporty interior with a black color scheme, silver highlights, and smooth, soft padding.

The RVR is equipped with an advanced in-car entertainment including a terrestrial digital TV tuner HDD navigation system and a “link system” with USB, Bluetooth and other connections for music players and other external devices.
  • Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing Electronic Control
  • Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System
  • Intensive battery charging of the electricity generated during deceleration (regenerative braking). The stored energy is used until it is consumed during idling and running, without electricity generation. This system contributes to higher fuel efficiency because the burden on the engine is decreased from not running the alternator while the stored energy is consumed.

  • The push-button switch is standard equipment on “G” trim levels and a factory option on “M” trim levels, installed at the same time as the keyless operation system.
  • Multi-information Display (MID) with superior visibility as standard equipment on “G” trim levels. The MID indicates average speed, fuel efficiency, remaining fuel, warnings and other vehicle information using an easy-to-read color LCD screen.
  • Versatile storage space near the instrument panel, including a convenient passenger seat glove compartment, a floor console box, a small article box in front of the shifter and a console box between the two front seats.
  • Tilt and telescoping steering wheel to adjust the steering wheel height and angle for the optimal driving position.
  • The second-row seats are adjustable-return seats which fold forward for storage and provide two reclining positions. They can be returned from the storage configuration to either reclining position in a simple one-step operation, with the return seat position determined by the speed at which the seats are pulled back up.
  • High-capacity 419L luggage space with ample room for golf bags, suitcases and camping gear, plus a separate underfloor storage area for easy storage of wet or dirty items. (Company measurement using the VDA method; includes the under floor storage area (without the optional spare tire)
